Applesauce Spice Cake
Delicious old fashioned applesauce spice cake with cream cheese frosting! It's a super soft and moist cake with a light apple flavor and plenty of autumn spices!

Ingredients:
For applesauce spice cake:
● 1 (16.5-ounce) box Food Club Spice Deluxe Cake Mix
● 3 eggs
● 1/3 cup vegetable oil
● 1 cup Food Club Unsweetened Applesauce
● 1 teaspoon Food Club Vanilla Extract
● 1 cup Food Club Pecan Chips
For cream cheese frosting:
● 2 (8-ounce) blocks Food Club Original Cream Cheese, at room temperature
● 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
● 4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
● 2 teaspoons Food Club Vanilla Extract
● 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Method:
For applesauce spice cake:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, applesauce and vanilla
extract on medium speed for 2 minutes, until completely combined. Gently stir in the
chopped pecans. - Divide the batter evenly between the cake pans and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a
toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Set the pans on a wire cooling rack and
allow the cakes to cool completely.
For cream cheese frosting: - Using a mixer, beat the cream cheese and butter for 2 minutes, until smooth and creamy.
Add the powdered sugar, vanilla and cinnamon and beat until combined. Place a layer of
cake on a serving plate and spread the frosting evenly over the top. Add the second layer
of cake, and spread the frosting over the top and sides of the cake.
